XSLT Prism

terms plain English

Terms of use

These terms cover the XSLT Prism Chrome extension and this website, xslt-polyfill.com. They are short on purpose.

Effective October 4, 2026

1. Using the extension

You may install and use XSLT Prism free of charge, for personal or commercial work, on as many of your own devices as you like. You may not resell it, repackage it as your own, or use them to break the law or the terms of the sites you visit.

The extension is also subject to the Chrome Web Store terms under which you install them.

2. Third-party services and content

XSLT Prism displays XML documents and stylesheets published by other websites. Those documents belong to their owners and are governed by their own terms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability, or for what a stylesheet chooses to display.

XSLT Prism includes open-source components (libxml2, libxslt and libexslt, Emscripten and musl, under MIT-style licences, and code adapted from a BSD-licensed project). Their licence texts ship inside the extension, under Settings, Privacy & About. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.

3. No warranty

XSLT Prism and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular:

  • XSLT Prism supports XSLT 1.0 with EXSLT, as browsers did. Results can differ from other XSLT processors, and stylesheets written for XSLT 2.0 or 3.0 will not run.
  • Browsers change. A Chrome update can alter or stop features an extension relies on.

Check anything important (an indexing decision, an invoice, a report) against an authoritative source before you rely on it.

4. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the XSLT Prism developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or rankings, arising from your use of the extension or this website. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the extension, which is zero.

5. Updates and changes

We may update, change or discontinue XSLT Prism at any time, and Chrome updates installed extensions automatically. We may also update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. Continuing to use XSLT Prism after a change means you accept the updated terms.

6. Trademarks

Google and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC. XSLT Prism is independent: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, and it is not the open-source xslt-polyfill project. The domain name describes what the extension does.

7. Contact
